The itinerary
at a glance
For your 7-day tour from Hann. Münden to Bremen
After your individual arrival in Hann. Münden in the late afternoon, you will be given information and handed over your bikes (if booked). The three-river town is where the Fulda and Werra rivers meet at the Weserstein to form the Weser. Over 700 restored half-timbered houses from six centuries make up Hann. The town hall of Hann. Münden is considered one of the most beautiful representative buildings from the Weser Renaissance.
Start of the bicycle tour on the Weser Rock, exactly where Werra and Fulda embrace each other. You cycle via Reinhardshagen and past the ancient Benedictine monastery Bursfelde to the baroque Huguenot's town Bad Karlshafen. The centre of Bad Karlshafen with its lovely reconstructed baroque houses presents an interesting diversion to the otherwise usual half-timbered houses. A number of highlights can be encountered along the route: the town Fürstenberg with a renowned porcelain manufacture, the old hanseatic town Höxter with more than 160 mostly half timbered buildings under monuments-protection. The little town Beverungen retained a lot of its historical face. Holzminden is well known for the production of aroma-essences and perfume-oils.
Many romantic villages along the way invite you to linger. Corvey Castle, the former imperial abbey near Höxter, offers a delightful mix of art and culture. The romantic town of Bodenwerder was made famous by the world-famous Baron of Lies von Münchhausen. The Pied Piper town of Hamelin impresses with its intact old town, wonderful half-timbered houses and buildings in the typical Weser Renaissance style from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Near Porta Westfalica the river breaks through the Wiehen- and Weser mountain ranges and reaches the Northern German lowlands. The small town Rinteln, originating from the 13th century, still has many buildings from the Weser Renaissance. Bad Oeynhausen has the world biggest carbonic acid thermal spring. Minden once was a flourishing trading centre but was destroyed in great parts during World War II. It was reconstructed in an exemplary way. After the days spent in the low mountain ranges today the idyllic, protected river meadows of the middle Weser dominate. You enjoy a far view over the flat countryside with meadows, black and white cows, a farm here and there and numerous wind mills.
The route takes you to Nienburg. Nienburg was characterised by its strong fortifications and the pretty old town is still well worth seeing today. The historic landscape of the Middle Weser, the county of Hoya, is now traversed on the Weser Cycle Route. In this distinctive Weser marsh you will find original villages and isolated farmsteads. After this natural stage, Verden offers a crowning finale. The town's landmark is the cathedral. Verden owes its current importance to its status as a well-known equestrian and horse town.
Away from the traffic and through park-like areas you reach the centre of Bremen. The city has the second largest North-Sea port and a great importance for the sea trade. A sight seeing tour of the old town, as well as the Schnoorviertel, the monument of Roland and the monument of the "Bremer Musicians" are absolutely a must.

Sporty tour + e-bike = more momentum and energy
You think adventure, calf workouts and e-bikes are mutually exclusive? Far from it, we say! Cycling with electric power can open up whole new worlds of cycling.
Concept
For cycling holiday connoisseurs who already appreciate the advantages of e-bikes and who would like to cover longer distances at a brisk pace, the combination of an e-bike & a sporty cycling tour offers a new adventure in the form of longer distances and more challenging terrain.
Even those who are not (yet) fit enough but are still craving a sporty PEDALO bike tour should go for it - and treat themselves to an e-bike for support. With a gentle push, it gets you right into the thick of it all!
Or are you travelling as a couple and your partner is always ahead of you? With an e-bike, you will be able to keep up easily.
Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.
The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.
Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.
The transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel is included as part of the basic service package for all staged tours and round trips in the PEDALO programme. You simply leave your luggage out for our courier in the morning before you set off on your cycling stage. When you arrive at your next accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening, it will be there waiting for you.
Just in case, we recommend always packing a change of clothes in your saddle bag, especially for short stages which you may cover more quickly than the luggage driver.
Depending on how the logistics are organised on site, there may be restrictions on the maximum weight and/or number of pieces of luggage. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents well before the start of your trip.
Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!
Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
