For your 8-day round trip in the Copenhagen area

The Danish capital has a lot to offer. An early arrival is highly recommended. Take a stroll through the medieval city center or visit the famous Tivoli. In the evening you will have a personal welcome meeting and bike fitting.

You leave Copenhagen heading north. Today's stage will take you along the Öresund, the strait between Zealand in Denmark and Schonen in Sweden. Always with a view of Baltic Sea you will quickly reach the famous beach Bellevue. A swim in the cool water gives you refreshment.

In Helsingør it´s worth to visit Kronborg Castle, or take the ferry for a quick trip to Helsingborg on the Swedish site.

Take some time to visit the old port city of Helsingør before continuing your bike ride. The coastal resorts Hornbæk and Gilleleje will charm you and invite you to linger.

Your further route now leads away from the coast. You will pass extensive nature reserves and small lakes. You will be impressed by the many contrasts before you reach the goal of the day which is Hillerød. Visit Frederiksborg Castle or just treat yourself with a good glass of wine in the hotel - both can be a great way to spend the rest of the day.

Today you will cycle back to the coast. The small idyllic villages Tisvildeleje and Liseleje as well as numerous beaches exude their charm. You have reached your today's goal with Højby. the picturesque small town is located on the opposite side of the Isefjord. The ferry ticket to Rørvig is included for you.

In the Odsherred peninsula you will always be close-by the sea, dunes and beautiful salty sea air. You will find the most beautiful sandy beaches there.

Nevertheless, today's bike tour has more to offer: breathtaking views all along the coast of Isefjord, Lammefjord and Holbækfjord. The goal for today is the port city of Holbæk that was first mentioned in 1199. Here we recommend you to visit the Protestant-Lutheran Church of St. Nikolai.

Today you start south along the Isefjord. You will discover green meadows and small charming villages. The last part leads along the bay of Roskilde. The Cathedral of Roskilde welcomes you from afar.

Since the beginning of the 15^th century, the cathedral was the favorite grave church of the Danish royal family and since 1995 also part of UNESCO World Heritage. A visit to the Viking Ship Museum is also recommended.

The last stage leads you back to the starting point of your bike tour, the Danish capital Copenhagen. From Albertslund you have access to the high-speed cycle route number C99, which leads you almost without traffic into the city center.

In the afternoon there is enough time for you to explore the city on your own. During a stroll, you can fulfil all the wonderful impressions that you have already gained on your bike tour through North Zealand.

After breakfast, your journey ends. We are happy to book an extension stay for you to explore the Danish capital.

Beginners and dabblers

You feel right at home on flat terrain. You have nothing against a few little breaks, and sightseeing is a priority for you. These trips are also suitable for cyclists who are not super fit. In short, these tours are for all those who prefer relaxed cycling and easy enjoyment for body, mind and soul.

questions

What info material will I receive for my bike tour?

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.

Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.

How does the luggage transport work?

The transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel is included as part of the basic service package for all staged tours and round trips in the PEDALO programme. You simply leave your luggage out for our courier in the morning before you set off on your cycling stage. When you arrive at your next accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening, it will be there waiting for you.

Just in case, we recommend always packing a change of clothes in your saddle bag, especially for short stages which you may cover more quickly than the luggage driver.

Depending on how the logistics are organised on site, there may be restrictions on the maximum weight and/or number of pieces of luggage. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents well before the start of your trip.

Should I take out travel insurance?

Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!

Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
