Relaxed cycling through the Lake District

For your 7-day location-based tour in the Seeham area

Day
01
Arrival in Seeham (organised by the traveller)

First, you will cycle on beautifully landscaped ways to the monastery Michaelbeuern. In the restaurant Stiftskellnerei you can enjoy the famous Augustinerbräu beer under old chestnut trees. On your way back, you will cycle between green meadows, through the rural countryside of the Alpine foothills to your hotel at Lake Obertrum.

Starting at Lake Obertrum, you will cycle to Lake Wallersee. From Seekirchen (castle Seeburg) you will continue your trip on the Wallersee cycle path to the well-known farm Gut Aiderbichl (admission fee included in the tour package price!). From there, you will cycle at the foot of mount Tannberg to Schleedorf (village museum with cheese factory), down to Lake Mattsee, and back to your hotel.

Today, you will cycle via the Egelseen lakes and through the Tiefsteinklamm gorge to Lake Wallersee. After passing the so-called Finsterloch you will have time for a lunch break with a hearty snack (included in the tour package price!). Afterwards, you will continue your tour to Lake Irrsee and Lake Mondsee and to the town of the same name – Mondsee – with its old castle and historic church. At the end of your day, you will be taken back to your hotel.

The day starts with a short transfer to Salzburg. On the Salzach riverside walk you will leisurely cycle to Oberndorf, the birthplace of the famous Christmas carol “Silent Night”. On your way back to the Trumer Seen lakes, you can either cycle over or around Mount Haunsberg.

The train will take you to Hallein. In the Celtic town it is worth a visit to the Celtic museum or the salt mine. Then you will cycle along the Salzach river and via the Hellbrunn castle with its world-famous fountains to Salzburg. Later, you will return along the Fischbach rivers and Mattig to Seeham.

There are places in the world of cycle touring that are just so picturesque and diverse that once you have arrived, you can't tear yourself away. They have so much to offer that you will struggle to decide which direction to cycle in first. These special spots are where we at PEDALO have created our location-based tours just for you.

Keep riding, but always stay in the same place

In contrast to staged tours and round trips, you won't cycle from place to place, and thus from hotel to hotel. Instead, you will stay in one and the same accommodation for the duration of your cycling holiday. This hotel will be the starting point for fascinating cycling excursions in the surrounding area. Every day, there will be new routes for you to explore. Every evening, you will return to hosts who put their heart and soul into their work and offer you a pleasantly cosy atmosphere with a healthy dose of class. Instead of having to pack your bags each day, you simply get to ride your bike and enjoy your holiday.

For beginners, improvers - and anyone seeking a breath of fresh air

This type of cycling holiday is designed for anyone who likes to take it easy. If you’re feeling a bit too sore for cycling or the weather isn't looking good, you can simply take a day off. Location-based tours are also ideal for first-time cyclists who may not yet know exactly how much they can or want to tackle in a day. No unnecessary stress, just pure freedom - so your tour can be all about the joy of cycling!

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.

Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.

Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!

Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
