The itinerary
at a glance

For your 7-day round trip in the Waren area

In Waren/Müritz, between the harbor and the old town, there are lovely cafés, restaurants and stores vying for your attention.

Your first stage takes you through the Müritz National Park. You cycle along the eastern shore through this 318 km² gem. Your route takes you through extensive forests and meadows to Neustrelitz, once the residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

Before you set off again, you should take some time to visit the town. You reach the Havel-Müritz waterway south of Wesenberg via a network of many small lakes. The boat traffic on the lakes and at the locks is also an experience from the roadside.

Cycle along the Havel waterway back to the Müritz. Wave to the leisure captains at the locks. The 3-Königinnen- Palais on the Mirower Schlossinsel is an attractive stopover. The open landscape on the west bank of the Müritz offers a fantastic view over the “Little Sea”.

From Müritz you cycle along the “Mecklenburg Lake Cycle Path” to Lake Plau. At the southern tip of the lake you can visit the largest bear forest in Central Europe. Brown bears live here in large forest enclosures. Continue cycling along the western side of Lake Plau.

This stage takes you around the northern tip of Lake Plau. The village of Alt Schwerin is quickly reached. At various points in the village and in the new Agroneum, you can experience Mecklenburg's agricultural history of the last 200 years. On the edge of the Schwinz Heath, your route then takes you to the island town of Malchow. Continue through the “Land Fleesensee” vacation region. In the tranquil harbor village of Sietow, you reach the Müritz circular route and pass Klink Castle on the way back to Waren. Bathing spots on the banks of the Müritz invite you to refresh yourself.

On request, we will be happy to book you an additional night in Waren (Müritz)/Klink.

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.

Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.

The transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel is included as part of the basic service package for all staged tours and round trips in the PEDALO programme. You simply leave your luggage out for our courier in the morning before you set off on your cycling stage. When you arrive at your next accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening, it will be there waiting for you.

Just in case, we recommend always packing a change of clothes in your saddle bag, especially for short stages which you may cover more quickly than the luggage driver.

Depending on how the logistics are organised on site, there may be restrictions on the maximum weight and/or number of pieces of luggage. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents well before the start of your trip.

Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!

Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
