The itinerary
at a glance

For your 11-day tour from Berlin to Copenhagen

Good S-Bahn connection from/to Berlin-Mitte.

You cycle from Oranienburg along the Havel waterway to Zehdenick. In the Mildenberg Museum Park you will experience industrial history at first hand in what was once Europe's largest brickworks area. You stay in Zehdenick or Fürstenberg.

The Mecklenburg Lake District begins at the "Great Stechlin", immortalised in literature by Th. Fontane. On the tour to Neustrelitz you pass a number of smaller and larger lakes. The destination is the former royal seat of Neustrelitz. The castle park, the star-shaped market square and the town layout are testimonies to the history of the Grand Duchy of Strelitz.

The stage leads through the Müritz National Park. It is the largest land national park in Germany. This extensive protected area is a refuge for our endangered flora and fauna. In the H. Schliemann Museum in Ankershagen, the work of the Troy discoverer comes to life. Cycle leisurely to the spa town of Waren/Müritz.

You leave the lively town of Waren/Müritz, the Nossentiner Heide National Park awaits you with extensive woodlands and clear lakes. The Barlach town of Güstrow is soon reached. You should plan a sightseeing tour of the historic old town, the castle and Ernst Barlach's studio.

Today you cycle along the Bützow-Güstrow Canal to Rostock. On this stage, you can also travel to Rostock by train (on your own) from various stations.

By bike to the ferry port of Rostock approx. 12 km. The ferry crossing to Gedser (incl.) takes approx. 2 hours. On the Danish side, enjoy the beautiful route over dikes and through small woods along Falster's most beautiful beaches.

Always along the coast, you cycle through easy terrain to the old merchant town of Stubbekøbing. Take the ferry (on your own) to the island of Bogø or alternatively cycle via Vordingborg to Kalvehave to the island of Møn.

Across the bridge from Møn to Zealand. Country houses and manor houses, surrounded by farmland, characterise the landscape. Fakse Ladeplads is approx. 55 km away, and Rødvig with its fascinating cliffs approx. 75 km. If you stay overnight in Rødvig, you will have reached your destination. If you stay overnight in Køge, you can take the train from both places (on your own). Sporty cyclists can continue cycling and cover the entire distance of approx. 107 km to Køge.

If you have spent the night in Rødvig, today's stage leads along the beaches. From the village church in Højerup you have a unique view of the chalk coast "Stevns Klingt". In Køge you can visit the local history museum "Køge Byhistoriske Arkiv". Then continue on to Copenhagen. Let yourself be enchanted by the bustling city during a final evening at Tivoli Garden.

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.

Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.

The transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel is included as part of the basic service package for all staged tours and round trips in the PEDALO programme. You simply leave your luggage out for our courier in the morning before you set off on your cycling stage. When you arrive at your next accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening, it will be there waiting for you.

Just in case, we recommend always packing a change of clothes in your saddle bag, especially for short stages which you may cover more quickly than the luggage driver.

Depending on how the logistics are organised on site, there may be restrictions on the maximum weight and/or number of pieces of luggage. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents well before the start of your trip.

Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!

Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
