Cycling & wellness in the Rottal spa triangle

Relax, feel good, be fit and active - that's the motto of this cycle tour. Cycling and wellness in the Rottal spa triangle means cycling in the fresh air, discovering beautiful landscapes by bike, experiencing nature and culture up close. Enjoy a massage, bathe in the warm thermal water or reflect on the day's cycling with a mud pack.

Bad Füssing is a place that sees itself as an oasis in the hectic hustle and bustle of our time. In 30 years, Bad Füssing has developed from a hamlet to a world-renowned spa and is now one of Europe's leading spas. The thermal spa complex with more than 2,800 square meters of thermal water in 18 different pools, the sauna paradise with 1,000 square meters and the numerous wellness offers provide a limitless health offer. Three modern bathing facilities, extensive parks, numerous cultural attractions and an extensive network of cycle paths fulfill every wish.

For your 6-day location-based tour in the Kirchham area

Individual arrival in Kirchham in the immediate vicinity of the spa and thermal resort of Bad Füssing in the Rottal spa triangle. Your rental bike, if booked, will be waiting for you at your arrival hotel.

You take a leisurely drive through the charming countryside surrounding Europe's most popular spa town. Today's tour is characterized by well-kept farms, orchards, pastures and extensive flat meadows. You cycle through a peaceful, unspoiled landscape with sweeping views of the Pockinger Heide.

Today you will explore the well-known European nature reserve Unterer Inn. This largely untouched natural landscape is one of the most species-rich habitats for waterfowl in inland Central Europe. 250,000 waterfowl a year speak their own language here. A natural paradise that is also home to 800 butterfly species and numerous beaver populations. You cycle to the 700-year-old trading and border town of Braunau am Inn with its historically valuable old town and impressive history and from there back to Kirchham.

Let yourself be whisked away to a region that is still largely undiscovered by tourists and enjoy pure nature amidst the rolling hills of the Upper Austrian Innviertel. Explore a rural cultural landscape with apple and pear trees and the four-sided and square farms typical of the Innviertel. The constantly changing landscape and charming views guarantee a varied and attractive day's cycling. Cozy country inns along the way invite you to enjoy a hearty snack. You will be surprised at what there is to discover.

Cycle through the picturesque nature of the Inn floodplains to Neuhaus am Inn. Continue to baroque Schärding: the colorful heart of the border town is the “Silberzeile”, a stone reminder of the salt and timber trade of days gone by. A tour of the over 2000-year-old three-river city of Passau is a must. Here, after 517 river kilometers, the Inn bids farewell and flows into the Danube as a stately river. Before you set off again towards Kirchham, take a three-river cruise on the Danube, Inn and Ilz. The stage can be shortened individually by train.

Your cycle tour ends after breakfast. You start your journey home with lots of great impressions in your luggage. We are happy to book an additional stay on request.

The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. There are places in the world of cycle touring that are just so picturesque and diverse that once you have arrived, you can't tear yourself away. They have so much to offer that you will struggle to decide which direction to cycle in first. These special spots are where we at PEDALO have created our location-based tours just for you.

Keep riding, but always stay in the same place

In contrast to staged tours and round trips, you won't cycle from place to place, and thus from hotel to hotel. Instead, you will stay in one and the same accommodation for the duration of your cycling holiday. This hotel will be the starting point for fascinating cycling excursions in the surrounding area. Every day, there will be new routes for you to explore. Every evening, you will return to hosts who put their heart and soul into their work and offer you a pleasantly cosy atmosphere with a healthy dose of class. Instead of having to pack your bags each day, you simply get to ride your bike and enjoy your holiday.

For beginners, improvers - and anyone seeking a breath of fresh air

This type of cycling holiday is designed for anyone who likes to take it easy. If you’re feeling a bit too sore for cycling or the weather isn't looking good, you can simply take a day off. Location-based tours are also ideal for first-time cyclists who may not yet know exactly how much they can or want to tackle in a day. No unnecessary stress, just pure freedom - so your tour can be all about the joy of cycling!
