The itinerary
at a glance

For your 8-day location-based tour in the Stralsund area

From the hotel it is approx. 5 minutes to the old town and its sights such as St Mary's Church, OZEANEUM, town hall, Alter Markt etc.

Your circular tour starts through the rather flat landscape of the south-west of the island of Rügen, past the Rambin salt marshes to the tranquil Kubitzer Bodden. You cycle past the 9 mountains (Bronze Age burial site near Götemitz) to Poseritz and Gustow. In Rambin you have the opportunity to stop off at the Pommernkate or the local island brewery and sample regional specialities on your own.

In the morning by boat (incl.) to Hiddensee. You cycle through the heathland of Neuendorf via Vitte to Kloster. From Dornbusch you have a view of the whole island. Spend the afternoon on the island and then return to Stralsund by boat (incl.).

In the morning by train (on your own) to Sassnitz. Continue through the Jasmund National Park to the chalk cliffs. Enjoy the unique view of the Baltic Sea from the Königsstuhl and discover the history of Rügen's origins at the National Park Centre (on your own). The journey continues via Mukran and Prora to the Baltic Sea resort of Binz. In the afternoon, take a relaxing train journey (on your own) back to Stralsund.

Use the day for an extensive exploration tour through Stralsund. The main attraction is the OZEANEUM in Stralsund. Alternatively, take the train (on your own) to the island of Usedom. You leave the imperial resorts via the kilometre-long beach promenade over cliffs.

Today you follow the Strelasund to Klausdorf on attractive cycle paths and then cycle along the Bodden coast towards Barth to Groß Mohrdorf and back to Stralsund.

After breakfast by train (on your own) to Ribnitz-Damgarten. A visit to the amber museum is well worthwhile. Cycle via Fischland to the Baltic seaside resort of Ahrenshoop. Continue along the Bodden on quiet paths to Born and Wiek to the Baltic seaside resort of Prerow and Zingst. Cross the Meiningen Bridge in the direction of Barth and return to Stralsund by train (on your own).

There are places in the world of cycle touring that are just so picturesque and diverse that once you have arrived, you can't tear yourself away. They have so much to offer that you will struggle to decide which direction to cycle in first. These special spots are where we at PEDALO have created our location-based tours just for you.

Keep riding, but always stay in the same place

In contrast to staged tours and round trips, you won't cycle from place to place, and thus from hotel to hotel. Instead, you will stay in one and the same accommodation for the duration of your cycling holiday. This hotel will be the starting point for fascinating cycling excursions in the surrounding area. Every day, there will be new routes for you to explore. Every evening, you will return to hosts who put their heart and soul into their work and offer you a pleasantly cosy atmosphere with a healthy dose of class. Instead of having to pack your bags each day, you simply get to ride your bike and enjoy your holiday.

For beginners, improvers - and anyone seeking a breath of fresh air

This type of cycling holiday is designed for anyone who likes to take it easy. If you’re feeling a bit too sore for cycling or the weather isn't looking good, you can simply take a day off. Location-based tours are also ideal for first-time cyclists who may not yet know exactly how much they can or want to tackle in a day. No unnecessary stress, just pure freedom - so your tour can be all about the joy of cycling!

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.

Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.

Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!

Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
