The itinerary
at a glance

For your 8-day tour from Riga to Tallinn

Individual arrival in Riga. Accommodation in a hotel. In the evening we have planned a guided tour of the city. During the tour, you will see the Old Town and the beautiful houses restored in Art Nouveau style.

After breakfast, a meeting with a Wama Tour representative and a bus ride (approx. 110 km) in the northern direction. Then the bikes are distributed and the first cycling tour begins. We cross the Latvian-Estonian border by bicycle and continue north along the Baltic Sea coast. We arrive at the hotel in Pärnu in the late afternoon. In the evening we enjoy a sightseeing tour of this seaside resort.

We start the day with a transfer (approx. 100 km)  . We will reach the largest Estonian island of Saaremaa by ferry. During the cycling tour, we will see the island's characteristic windmills in Angla and the meteorite impact craters in Kaali. We have planned to spend the night in or near the island's only town, Kuressaare.

We will start the day with a walk and a tour of the castle. Afterwards, a scenic cycling route will take us across the Sorve peninsula to the southernmost point of the whole island. At the destination, we will visit the Sea Museum and have a meal at a local pub

Today we travel to the northern part of the island of Saaremaa and its distinctive cliff coastline. We will visit one of the highest - the Panga Cliff, which offers extraordinary views. On our return to Kuressare (approximately 70 km), we will be happy to sit down in one of the many pubs, eat something local and have an Estonian beer.

After a short bus transfer (around 40 km) we get to the next island of Hiiuma by ferry. Immediately after crossing, we get on our bikes and head in a north-easterly direction. Riding through the next small but charming island of Kassari, we will take a break in one of the small harbours to eat and rest a little. Driving towards the next ferry crossing we will observe many species of birds, visit an old woollen spinning mill and a baroque palace in the village of Suuremoisa. By ferry (1,5 hour), we cross to the mainland and spend the night in Haapsalu.

In the morning we will visit the old railway station - now the Railway Museum - and the tiny old town of Haapsalu. Bus transfer around 80 km. On our bikes today we ride along the Baltic coast. In the small charming village of Keila Joa, we will take a break, see a high waterfall and a small beautifully restored palace. We will arrive in Tallinn by bus (around 15 km). Today we will still have a guided walk in Tallinn's old town.

End of the tour. Individual departure home or possibility to extend the stay in Tallinn.

Every day, you and your tour group (6 to 16 people) will be taken to the starting point of the cycling stage by bus transfer. You will then cycle at your own speed, following the maps. The support van will stay close at hand with an English-speaking tour guide.

Your travel documents usually include general travel information, a hotel list, a road book and/or detailed maps as well as a textual description of the route; you will also get luggage tags and possibly also vouchers and/or information material on the various sightseeing attractions. The exact contents of the information package depend on the booked trip and its included services.

The documents will be sent to you approx. two to three weeks before the start of your tour. Depending on the trip, you may receive them partly in digital form and partly by post – or you will receive the hotel list and general travel information in advance by e-mail, and the remaining documents along with the maps on site at your starting hotel.

Please note that the travel documents are issued exclusively for PEDALO guests and are therefore not available without a booking.

The transport of your luggage from hotel to hotel is included as part of the basic service package for all staged tours and round trips in the PEDALO programme. You simply leave your luggage out for our courier in the morning before you set off on your cycling stage. When you arrive at your next accommodation in the late afternoon or early evening, it will be there waiting for you.

Just in case, we recommend always packing a change of clothes in your saddle bag, especially for short stages which you may cover more quickly than the luggage driver.

Depending on how the logistics are organised on site, there may be restrictions on the maximum weight and/or number of pieces of luggage. You will receive more detailed information on this with the travel documents well before the start of your trip.

Travel insurance is not included in our prices. You can decide whether to get a quote elsewhere or simply book your travel insurance online at pedalo.com/en/service/travel-insurance. In any case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance!

Please note that for last-minute bookings (less than 30 days before the start of the trip), insurance cover can only be taken out within 3 days of booking.
